while trying to install the cd that come with the scanner, near is a point where the installation freezes, consequently an error message that says "another installation is already contained by progress" but there is no other installation going on! i own a compaq presario 2500 notebook with iexplorer 6, window xp service pack2. anyone have a solution?

Do not use the cd. Go to hp's website and download the driver and afterwards install it. In addition, turn to start-->run-->type in msconfig, press enter-->dance to the last tab(System) and look through the program fact list. The programs that are checked are the ones that are loaded everytime you start your computer. Make sure that the scanner installation does not exist there. And Remember, The shorter this register, the faster your computer will start.
I think ur cd might be have some complaints. So try to install it using windows xp harware installation software. In control panel in attendance is an option give hardware.use it to solve the problem. I guess everything will become ok by that
