First stale HP might not be your best choice being they usually rated poorly on power control issues, Consumer Reports, PC magazine etc.. YOu might want to try to uninstall, then reinstall the drivers for the device. Look contained by device part of the control panel and see if here are any question results next to device. This would narrate you that the problem might be related to the install. If you have just now purchased this printer you might want to contact HP's customer support, which I have found to be pretty accurate. The location in the control panel is the "System" god then "Hardware" button next "Device Manager". Look to see any question results that would tell give or take a few driver problems. I have my control panel set to classic belief.
