Why have my scanner stopped working? I can print with no problems but when I press the scan button I carry an error saying that I must install HP software. I've tried re-installing the software disc and running the update tool but no cheeriness??

i work as a finance director for a stationery company an we hold had several problems next to regards to hp out of commission properly, you need to telephone call hp but be warned it take a long time to get to the right creature!!
I seen this come up lots times with these USB devices. The ony fix I enjoy found is removing the software and re-installing.
